Working at Height Regulations 2005

Overview:

The amendments to the Work at Height Regulations 2005 which came into force on 6 April have addressed issues relating to inspection, planning and training. The Regulations apply to all work at height. As managers of working at height activities, including rooftop access, maintenance and cleaning, you must ensure that:

  • All work is properly planned and organised
  • Risks from work at height are assessed and appropriate work equipment is selected and used
  • Those involved in work at height are competent to carry out the work
  • Risks from fragile surfaces are properly controlled
  • Equipment for work at height is properly inspected and maintained

Please remember that 'working at height 'is now any height 'where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury.

Aims & Objectives:

The aim of this course is to provide a level of competence for each delegate, promoting an understanding of legal obligations, an appreciation of risk with working at height, and the ability to plan the works to reduce the risk associated with working at height.

At the end of the course delegates will complete a multi-choice questionnaire. Those who pass the assessment will be issued with a certificate indicating their successful completion of the test.
