Creating a Culture of Innovation

Overview:

The programme is based on extensive research on the key drivers of innovation within organisations. Participants will be introduced to a comprehensive framework on innovation and change and have an opportunity to discuss with colleagues how their organisation measures up to the framework.

Aims & Objectives:

As a result of attending this course participants will:

  • Understand the necessity for innovation and change within organisations
  • Understand the strategic drivers for innovation within commercial organisations
  • Have used a framework of organisational innovation to benchmark their own organisation readiness for innovation

Successful delegates will be aware of what is required to create an atmosphere receptive to innovation to the organisation's advantage.

Course Outline:

  • Defining innovation & creativity using examples from business practice and academic literature
  • The need for innovation within organisations
  • What drives innovation? - a framework for analysing current levels of innovation across the organisation
  • Benchmarking current organisational culture
  • Action planning

This highly interactive programme is delivered using a mixture of tutor input, group discussions and activities. The course will be run as a workshop, with participants undertaking exercises on their own organisational. The nature of this workshop may require the course leader to undertake, prior to the workshop, a number of meetings with senior managers of the organisation, to fully understand the strategic drivers for the organisation.

Participants will have a greatly increased understanding of how employees can drive innovation in their organisation.

This programme is aimed at senior managers who have a strategic role in creating a culture within their organisation where innovation and change is the norm.
