Rights, Equality & Confidentiality

Overview:

A core part of the role of the Social Care Worker is the understanding and appreciation of the issues of Rights, Equality and Confidentiality. More important is the awareness of how to put these into practice in every day work with vulnerable persons.

Aims & Objectives:

The object of this course is to introduce the legislation which underpins the requirement for Social Care Worker to have training in Rights, Equality and Confidentiality. The course aims to raise an awareness of how Social Care Workers can adapt their working practices in order to uphold the rights of Service Users and comply with the Requirements of The Care Standards Act 2000. The course requires no prior knowledge of legislation, but does require some experience of the workings of the care environment. The course is suited to both new staff with little hands-on experience and to experienced staff with a wealth of practical knowledge who would benefit from underpinning knowledge. The course backs up the theory with examples from Health & Social Care settings to illustrate both good and bad practice. Of course there will be plenty of opportunities for delegates to ask questions.
