Overview:
It is a tragic fact that that almost all disclosures of abuse are true. It is a care workers responsibility to contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse. In order to ensure good professional practice it is essential for workers in care settings to know how society handles abuse, how to recognise it and what to do about it. It is important for care workers to respond effectively to any concerns of, or disclosures of abusive situations.

The course is delivered as an interactive training session, with taught elements supported by a range of worksheets, exercises and case studies.
- Increased awareness of adult abuse and safeguarding issues.
- Increased confidence when interacting with individuals who may have safeguarding issues.
- Awareness of their own and their organisations responsibilities
- How to seek specialist support / make effective referrals.

This course is intended care workers and support staff including, those new to the care sector who are employed in residential or domiciliary settings.
